Another Kind of Fog

by Lydia Jenkins
(Sacramento, CA)

I look in your eyes
But you are not there
I wonder how you feel
If only you could share

I talk to you
I teach you
I learn from you
I believe in you

Show me what you see
Through those young eyes
Let’s crack this code
And all that it defies

I am here
You are there
And even still
I know you care

You have so much love
And so much to say
It’s you I wake up for
To work with, every day

You are my wonder
You are my job
I can see that you
Are in another kind of fog
