Graduate Student - Special Education

After interviewing sets of parents I noticed a trend that students are not started to begin to transition at age 14 when questions of sexuality, freedom, monetary responsibility and the possibility of being taken advantage of by those who have low scruples.
The student's wishes and talents can be used in the future. By the age 16 or 17 years old, the student is about to leave the school and is not prepared. Also, the parents I talked to did not receive all the resources needed to transition to post secondary education counseling or a vocational center training link.
