Special Love

by Meshell Baylor
(Gardena, CA)

There's something extraordinary about you
I cannot see it clearly.
I know it's there, I feel it so
Yet my love grows tenderly.

When words have no specific meaning.
No ifs, ands, or blurs.
There is only one thing I'm quite sure of.
Your love holds me peacefully.

When the world is loud
Rooms seem overcrowded.
So much space is taken up.
My parents hold me when times seem rough.

Tickle away the anxiety
Make funny faces humorously.
Corny when they want to be
A drop of love from you each day
Taste sweeter than candy and pink lemonade.
